I am Lare Gomez (pronounced Larry Gomez).

I am a self taught artist who enjoys painting illusions about special people within my imaginary world.

My site contains 14 of my illusions.  My entire life work consists of 16 paintings completed over a 20 year period.

All are oil on canvas, painted with small brushes.  I rarely do pre or under-sketches, over-painting or glazing.  I never use air brush, cgi or photoshop. I usually start my works in the upper left hand corner and work diagonally to the bottom right corner. Although I start with an idea, I do not plan the image in detail or know what the finished illusion will be until it is completed.

I consider all of my past works exercises that helped me develop my technique and concepts. As such, all the paintings on my site are for display only.

None of these paintings have ever been publicly displayed or viewed outside of this site. None of the paintings are for sale. None of the paintings have been reproduced and none of them are or will be authorized for reproduction.
